January 6-12

Day 332-339
January has been pretty nice to us so far. We've had a few foggy mornings, and a few flurries of snow, but otherwise the temperature has been in the -10 to -15 area, and that is not bad.
We are back at therapy, and Glenn's physio was pretty thrilled when he transferred himself from his chair to the work out mat by himself! On Thursday, they went for a walk, and she told me that he initialized about ten steps on his right side, which he hasn't done for a while, so she was again very happy with the good sign that that is. I guess taking a Christmas break was a good thing!
Glenn's 50th birthday is on January 18th, and we are wondering what to do to celebrate. I haven't really decided. I'm not sure how much will be appropriate for him right now, as he is still a little reluctant to be in too big a crowd. I guess I will decide soon.
Chris is taking over the moving of Grandma Mitchell. He has gone to look at a carehome in Walsh Acres, and is taking Shirley to see it today. If she likes it, we will move her ASAP. Chris really liked it, and told me he was really going to pump Grandma up into liking it. He probably will succeed. I hope that it works out well. I can cross that off my list then, and go on with the next thing, probably the tax man!
In the meantime, I have an extra computer in my house. Glenn ordered a new one for Dale, and apparently did it twice! Anyone looking for a new computer? It was a very good deal, and I would really like to sell it! Let me know! These things came together on Friday, I filled the Rav with all the online orders. There were 2 computers, 1 LCD monitor (that's for Colin) and a gift basket from Made in Saskatchewan. Donna from the store phoned me and said the door was getting blocked, could I come and pick them up? Oh dear, I'll have to get Glenn to slow down a bit. The old credit card is getting hot!
'Til next time,
Louise

December 29-January 5

Day 324-331
Happy New Year!
My niece had her baby on December 31, so we are happy for them. All went well we are told, and she had a little girl.
I had a few sleepless nights trying to figure out the farm plan for next year. I'm keeping my options as open as possible. I bought some fertilizer, and we'll see what develops.
Glenn's mom needs to move, so I had her assessed. They say she isn't ready for a home, so we will have to find another personal care home. There are quite a few to choose from, but I don't know when I'll get around to it We had a nice week at home, so I am just being lazy, and really didn't miss the city at all. Therapy starts again on Monday, so I might find some ambition then.
It's been pretty quiet, so I really don't have much to say. I worked a couple days this week, but otherwise have just been on Christmas break. We are OK and take the days as they come. I try to keep Glenn working on new things, and he is eating more all the time. I hope that he continues to improve, although he has grave misgivings about his future. I try to encourage him as much as I can, but who really knows?
'Til next time,
Louise
