March 3 & 4

Day 19 & 20
On the weekend, there is a bit of a lull on the wards as the therapists don't come in to do full sessions. Glenn slept alot and the nurses got him up into the chair to help his tolerance. He was in the chair for at least 3 hours yesterday (Sunday), so he is doing well. There is more and more movement in his right leg and hand. We'll see today how the therapists do with his range of motion.
I was able to put socks on him yesterday, and I know he appreciated them, because he didn't want me to take them off in the evening. He was going for a bath though, so I don't know if the nurses put them back on for the night. We will look when we get there today.
Today Jackie is 20 years old, so my teenagers are gone! We haven't decided how to celebrate, or when, but we'll do something.
Driving home last night, Avril Levigne's lastest hit song came on the radio and Jackie and I have both decided that it is our theme song. It's called "Keep Holding On" and the words just make us tear up a bit, as it is a tribute to the dedication we need to keep it together. If you can, listen to it (sorry, country people it is a ROCK song!) and is in the top ten, so is easily heard on Z99 or Rock 94. We heard this song many times over the past few weeks and it is an inspiration to me.
There's not a lot more to say today, Glenn can move his head in response to your asking, and watches as people go by his room. He's down to 1 IV with saline solution and the last of his round of antibiotic. He has a strong cough, they are really working to keep his lungs clear. We have a long way to go, but have already come a long way. Thanks again for your help and concern, (yes my yard was cleaned again after last weeks storm and this time we caught him in the act!) we have good friends and neighbours.
That's all for now folks!

Hi to all of you! It is great to hear that Glenn has more movement and reaction movement. You were saying Louise that Glenn always has cold feet so I bet those socks were like a God send. The weather certainly has been ugly. I was hoping that the snow angel came to clean the yard again. Knew he would but its nice to hear that he did. Thank you for looking after the girls.
Happy Birthday, Jackie!!! You are a lovely young strong woman. Your presence is felt not only by the beautiful face but the beautiful spirit you have.
Take care of each other. Love you all. Tomorrow is a new day.

Me again! I just spoke to Myrna. She wants me to send you all her greetings. She is thinking of you daily. She might come up this week to see you now that you are three floors above her. She is so happy and pleased to hear about Glenn's progress as are Gavin, Berit and Rhys. They ask how all of you are doing each time I talk to them. Bessie Lewis sends her best, too. I don't know if I told you that I had spoken to Mike Little at convention. I was supposed to tell Glenn and Louise that he is thinking of you and wishing you the best. My friend Rita from Saskatoon phoned me the other day and her first question was how is Glenn. Jeannie (Foley) Gardiner reads your blog, I think. I gave her the address. There are people that are pulling for you Glenn who don't even know you. People on my staff for instance. A couple of my friends asked me how you were doing this morning.
Yes, "Heart on her Sleeve" has shared your story. It is one of determination, strength, faith and healing. Your daily progress is incredible even though it is slow. You and your family are my heroes, my friend. I love you.

Hi Louise & family. Happy Birthday a day late Jack! I tried yesterday to get this to work and I didn't have much luck. Anyway I just wanted to say how impressed I am with all of you with the strength and faith you are showing in support of your Dad (& Hubby). Just call me if you need anything at all.

Love, Auntie Wendy
