Day 663-669
December is here, and winter has arrived with it. The wind has been blowing out of the northwest, and has a real bite in it. Glenn did his board man imitation when we got home yesterday, but I was expecting it, and got him up the ramp and out of the wind as quickly as I could. I had wrapped his legs with a blanket, but he still stiffened up. It wasn't nearly so scary this time as we have a plan. I should have parked the car at more of an angle to block some of the wind, but that is hard to judge from inside the car!
We did some power shopping with Jackie and Johnny. It was nice to have the extra help in the mall. Chris came too, and took Glenn to his therapy session. This week has been entirely jumbled up as far as scheduling went. The more I tried to accommodate, the more things had to be changed. I finally quit changing things, and went along the best I could. We were in the city everyday but Tuesday though, so I got nothing done at home again. Perhaps next week? (Ha, it is December, and Jackie's wedding is coming up fast, who am I kidding?)
The best news is that Glenn is doing so well. We always have to remember that it should have been so much worse. When you keep that in mind, the impatience that grows is put to rest, and you carry on. Jackie bluntly told someone yesterday that Dad should have died, and I realize that the kids have a real good handle on what happened. Nothing was sugar coated, and in the long run that has served us well. Perspective is hard to keep in all of this, so if you really understand how close it was, you can appreciate the effort by all who have helped us. We are a miraculous story of life, and we do know that.
I'm looking forward to Christmas this year, it will be nice to see everyone, and rejoice as the season unfolds. The dark days will soon start to lengthen, and that in itself is reason to celebrate! We should be able to go to a few more events this year, but of course everything depends on weather conditions. I think the kids are going to help put up the tree tomorrow, that will help set the mood. I will finish piano lessons next week until the New Year too, and that will free my time for a few weeks.
'Til next time,
Louise

That winter wind is incredibly cold and its still not -20. Yikes. It is best to have plans in place. Does the cold affect Glenn so? We'll have to find thermal electric longjohns.
I saw Colin today at Long and McQuades. I met Chelsey. She is very lovely. Colin is so happy. I'm happy for them.
If there is something that I can do over the Christmas break, let me know. Whether it be holiday, driving or wedding related.
Love you all, M.
