October 18 - 31

Day 969-982
Happy Hallowe'en! The weather is still bad, the roads are mucky, and I think the kids will have to be dressed pretty warm for tonight. It could be blizzard like. We took kids out in snow storms, so anything is possible.
I've got to rant a bit. We have hit a big road block. The highways want a 60 meter setback for new homes, and we were building at the old set back of 150 feet. 60 meters is about 200'. If we were to move the house back that far at the present sight, we will be very close to the machine shed. We have a fellow in Highways trying to get the permit, and has suggested a "grandfather" clause that may be approved, but he also said it would be prudent to wait, because it really doesn't look good. We have been trying to think of another spot to build, but it will have to be outside the present yard sight, as everything is too close. I am so unhappy!
The builder has started on Colin and Chelsey's house though, so it was good and not good to watch the hole being dug yesterday. I'm trying to think positively, and I think a few prayers for us would be good!
Glenn was busy watching the action, so he stood a fair bit at the kitchen sink. He likes to have things to do. We got the sink unclogged the day before, so he was fascinated with the power snake the guys used. He looked one up on line, and we are deciding if we would justify the purchase of our own. So far, no, but wait until something else gets blocked up.
I just had to complain this morning, something will work out, but not without hassle, and I am tired of hassle. People keep saying nothing in life is easy, but why not? Any way, I'll let you know what happens.
'Til next time,
Louise

I'm so sorry to hear about this road block. Wow, when did this new regulation come in? I bet you that they didn't even tell you that this was being discussed. Yikes!! You'll find a spot but it puts things into the spring now, I suppose. I'll spread the word for the prayers.
Good to hear that Colin and Chelsey's is geting started. It would be difficult to watch though. It will keep Glenn out of mischief though.
Love you. I know that doesn't help that much but I don't want you to have any more hassles either.
