Day592-598
The crop is in the bin at our farm, and the weather is holding for other farmers to get done. The wind is nippy today, so I'm glad I'm not out there. It was a busy week as the custom combiners were out and about in the yard all week. They finished Thursday night, because the forecast was for rain on Friday. As it happened, it didn't rain, but the barley is off the fields now, so that is OK. They were up late and so was Louise. Jackie, Johnnie , Glenn and I planned to go to Yorkton on Friday, so I was relieved to have the combiners wrap up and leave before we did. We accomplished a lot in Yorkton, and played Glenn right out, but that is the way it is right now. I'm recuperating at the co-op, and it isn't too busy. We chose the bridesmaid dresses and Halleluah, I found a dress too! Then we went to another shop and I found shoes (on sale, too) so I'm ready to go! That was an unexpected bonus. We went to Yorkton, because I liked the dresses that Chris and Aryn chose from that same shop. They are very well made, and are reasonably priced. Johnnie came in with us, and while Jackie was looking at one dress ( in brown) and was asking if it came in black or red, Johnnie spotted a little black one, and showed it to Jackie. She tried it on, and was sold. It comes with a choice of sash colour, so I think it will be the one. We also went to a shop called Plum Tree, and found some nice decorations. We had also stopped at a farm that is having an auction sale on October 25 to look at a snow blower, so we had a packed trip.
Glenn goes for botox again on Monday, and to an internalist on October 7. We also have to go to the optomitrist soon, although I haven't booked that yet. He has a bit of a time finding a good distance to see things, and I tease him about playing trombone. We have avoided any really bad 'flus or colds so far, and hopefully we will have a bit more of a repreive. I have kids coming in every day now, so it is just a matter of time.
We are getting more excited about the wedding now that we have bought a few more things for it. There are fowl suppers coming up in the next month or so, so I'll try to contribute as I can. Glenn is more and more interested in the work around the yard, although that usually means I get a bit more to do as well. I would rather he be thinking about fixing than just sitting in front of the TV. Hopefully he can do more next year!
'Til next time,
Louise

You certainly had a successful trip to Yorkton. I would be tired out, too. It must be great to be planning such a happy event. Congratulations on finding a dress. One of the things that is the toughest to do, I would think. You have to be thinking about so many things that the mother's of the bride dress can end up being one of the last jobs to do.
Congrats on being finihed harvest! I do so hope that the weather holds. It is going to take some time yet. I hope the yield was decent.
Take care of yourselves. Love you.
M.
