February7 - February 20

Day 1081-1094
Where do I begin? So much has happened since the last post, I almost need to look back at a calendar. We have been going to the dentist to have Glenn's teeth repaired, and we are almost done. The last visit went quite well. We got a room at the Spa in Moose Jaw, so we went there after the dentist. Glenn did well in the water, but the next day, either he was tired, or we didn't keep him hydrated enough, or a bit of both, he had an a fib event (his heart was going between 155 and 170 beats per minutes, and was irregular). He didn't say anything until we were home for a while, but it didn't settle down, so I took him to Emergency. They tried to get his heart to convert with medication, to no avail, so he had to have a cardioversion. They put him to sleep for about 5 minutes, gave him a low dose shock, and his heart settled right back into normal sinus rhythm. I was in the room the whole time, and it wasn't too scary at all, he just sort of tensed up when they jolted him, it wasn't a convulsive shock. Needless to say, I don't know now if the water, the heat, the change in routine or if it was just coincidence, but we will think twice about the Spa. It was so nice, Glenn was just laughing, and Jackie and Johnny came for a while after work, and stayed for supper. Glenn was fine. I don't know, so we'll ask the therapists, and we are going to the doctor on Thursday, so we will gather a few opinions.
We did stop at Continental Appliances after the dentist and before the Spa, and bought our kitchen appliances. They have a good promotion on right now, so we have to apply for rebates. We should get $650.00 back, that more than pays for the dishwasher. We bought Whirlpool, because Whirlpool makes almost all the other appliances anyway. They will never last as well as our old ones, but they don't want them to.
Jackie and Johnny are painting in their house, so we went there Monday night to help them prep the walls. They had mud, and had picked up our tools, so after they fed us a steak supper we went to work. Glenn was working on Johnny's wireless connection, so he was busy too. I think Jackie has the kitchen done, and will probably be done the living room. She had time off this week and they were both enjoying getting the house freshened up.
Colin and Chelsey's house is insulated, and they are working on getting the power and gas hooked up so they can get the furnace installed. Once that happens, the finishing work will begin. I don't know if they need to spray more insulation, or if they are ready to drywall, but they are working away pretty steadily. Our house has all the outer walls standing, and they put up the inner partitions. The truss rafters arrived yesterday, and they want to start the roof on Monday. It is cool to walk around now and see the rooms take shape. I gave someone the guided tour yesterday, and told her she was my first one! She took pictures.
I'm missing a week, but I can't seem to remember back that far. Elaine is planning a shower for Colin and Chelsey, we've been to Regina quite a bit to keep appointments. I will be glad when we have caught up with the dentist and doctor. The weather has been really foggy and gray for a couple of weeks now, but the good thing is that it has been warm and calm. I spent an Sunday afternoon (it was Valentine's Day) in the tractor trying to find the piles of lumber. I pushed the snow with the blade, then backed over it with the blower. It was like snorting drugs! I only caught one 2 x 4. so I did OK. The snow is deep all over. Yesterday, the delivery truck got stuck after he dumped the rafters, and the framers helped him by using the telehandler. They drove over the old well, and broke through the covering! They were looking down the well cribbing wondering if they were going to have to go down and clean out the wood, but I told them it wasn't our good well, and it was collapsing for some reason. We will have it filled in the spring when we can use some of the stock pile to close it up again. They were going to build another cover for it for us anyway. What a gong show!
'Til next time,
Louise

I hope things have settled now for Glenn. Its the chance you take by living the best life you can. I am so sorry that happened. Are there laser treatments to deal with the part of the heart that does this? I think I heard something from a friend about it.
I'm glad the kids came to bewith you. Thanks Jackie and Johnny.
It sounds exciting to be getting appliances and such. Its real now, eh! A tour as well. My! My!
Can't wait to get mine.
Everyone is so busy. The buszzing must be deafening some times but good for the soul.
Better now than later with the well. Yikes! I'm glad no one was hurt.
Take care of yourselves my friends!
Love, M.
