Hi. It's Glenn here. I'd just like to say that my journey should be spelled with two "n"s in my name. Apparantly you can't change it after the blog has been created.
I've come to the conclusion that I must have a reasonably high tolerance for pain. I've been living with a pain in my neck for quite a while now. I've been married to her for 33 years.
We've had some exciting news at our house. We should be grandparents in mid-July of 2011. So far, Jackie is feeling fine, but she's hungry almost all the time. Johnny is looking forward to being a dad, a job which I'm sure he will be good at. I will have to get some kind of a sling so I can hold the baby!
Christmas is almost here. Merry Christmas! We're getting ready around here. It seems to get harder and harder each year to get a good gift for that special someone, I'm glad I only have to shop for that gift, it must be tough to have to get more gifts. Our tree is up, but not all decorated yet. Between the weather, and Louise being sick with a cold, it just hasn't got done yet. Johnny put it up, but we found a a string of lights that didn't work, I don't know why, it was one of the newer ones. Probably only ten or fifteen years old! We have an argument every year about which top will go on the tree. Mine, which I picked out and bought shortly after we got married (while I still had an opinion about such things), and Louise's, which she bought just a few years ago. The one that Louise bought has not got all the history behind it that mine does. Mine is a tradition.
This morning, one of Louise's piano lesson people, got stuck in our yard. The storm, that we seem to have missed the brunt of, left quite a bit of snow in our driveway. Louise had to plug the tractor in and this afternoon she blew snow. I haven't been in a tractor since my stroke. What a change. I don't really miss it. Most of the things that I was resposible for before the stroke, I can't do now. I can just do the things I want to do. I rarely do what I don't like to do, although I've been known to clean a toilet now and again.
I've been learning how to code a web page. I don't think I learn as fast as I used to. Though I was never any great shakes at it. It must be the effects of the stroke, it couldn't be old age. I'm what some might cosider as a "slow learner". Maybe I should get some help. anyway here is a link to my site www.mitchell.freeoda.com, for anyone who wants to have a look. I know that it's a weird URL, but it was a free one. (I hate paying for stuff.)
I have used a different font for my post, my hope is that it will be easier to keep track of who is writing. If it bothers you, or if you like it, please leave a coment. We read them all within one year.

Okay, I'm crying. But it is with happiness.
Oh, Glenn! I'm so glad you wrote the blog. Your sense of humour is right there. Pa-rum-tum! You bring a smile to my face so quickly. (Even when you are the pain in the neck. Ha!Ha!Alright I know that was poor but my wit needs sharpening.)
Congratulations on becoming grandparents!! that is so exciting! I'm so happy for all of you. Has Jackie asked you if she can still be the baby of the family? (Myrna asked Dad that before Berit was born. His reply was that she would always be his baby. As the older sister I still find that a bit much. But that's the Daddy/Daughter connection.)
Christmas is right around the corner. Tradition is important.
I agree. (But is Louise's choice prettier? Just saying.)
This snow has been something. I'm glad you have the garage now to come and go in.
In family we all must do what we can even if its cleaning toilets. Just remember to put the seat down.
I'm going to go to your website as soon as I finish here. Best of luck. Have fun.
I hope Louise is feeling better. Take of yourself and her, please. Love you.
M.
